Our first community meeting has taken place and it was great that so many people- many of whom had never met each other before- came together to talk about getting some community events together for people who live in the parish (and friends on the other side of our geographical border!).

Loads of ideas came out of the hour we spent together this morning, ranging from skills exchange workshops and farm walks to BBQs and duck races! If I’ve missed any out please let us know.

There were some people who were unable to be at this morning’s meeting who had hoped to be there.

So- we’ve organised a second meeting to make sure everyone who wants to get involved right at the beginning can do so.

Therefore- save the date! Saturday 22nd February, 11am at Brian and Hester Rogers’ home in Coverack Bridges.

Coffee and cake provided, so all you need to bring is yourself- and your ideas, of course!โ€.

Sithney Parish Council Declare a climate emergency

Please see details on this in file below.

Climate Emergency Declaration 2019 draft (1)

Climate change and carbon neutral Cornwall

Climate change and carbon neutral Cornwall
Dear Clerk,

After declaring a climate emergency earlier this year we are now working on a plan for how to help Cornwall become carbon neutral by 2030.

Our councillors recently shared their first plans at an extraordinary meeting (item NSC/80) to achieve the target for Cornwall to become carbon neutral by 2030 and recommended asking residents for their views on the Councilโ€™s ideas.

We would like to know what people’s priorities for tackling climate change are, what they think about our proposals and how they’d like to get involved.

Please help us to raise awareness of this important issue by sharing this email and directing people to our website and online survey.

Visit Cornwall Council’s website for more information about carbon neutral Cornwall and to complete our survey
